Reaching (or not reaching) the masses
Not (Quite) Reaching the Masses

“In the paper production of organizations, we mainly recognize their practice
only again as the rivalry of intellectuals, who
before an imaginary jury — which the working class cannot be, because its
language already excludes their participation — compete for the better reception of Marx”
To be a Marxist means to be dedicated to the masses and the oppressed.
Then why do leftists always seem to manage to express themselves in such a way that the actual target audience and beneficiary of the revolutionary ambitions don’t even understand what is being talked about?
No wonder the Left Party never managed to become the political home of the East: the reason was long no longer any SED trauma — the theoretical dogma and intellectual circle-jerking of the bourgeois and especially the extra-parliamentary left is likely hard to bear for someone who simply wonders why their home is now deteriorating.
It is not in the interest of a frustrated and layperson to have to look up every second word of the texts that explain to them why they are so frustrated in the first place.
Left-splaining, as I now dub it, is the art of the Left to also lose even the most exploited of the exploited and the poorest of the poor to the bourgeoisie, because they simply cannot manage to say what they want to say in a way that the masses actually want to hear it.
Synthesis of frustration and left-splaining in the East is the turning of the frustrated and ignorant toward simpler explanations; then it’s the migrant’s fault if the leftist can’t clearly explain why it’s not.
It’s already easier to turn to the naivety of free market ideology and the ignorance of deportation agendas; better simple answers to hard questions than incomprehensibly difficult answers to even more questions.
Historical revisionism and propaganda, naivety, ignorance, and consensus — more than enough already separates the oppressed from Marxism — so it shouldn’t be us Marxists who tighten that noose further with incomprehensibility and intellectual chauvinism.
